What will it take to stop you?
I was sharply reminded of this again just the other day.
One of the largest advertising providers online, which shall remain nameless, had just informed me that my ads had been disapproved due to the fact that the site I was running them to had violated one of their policies.
It was late, and I was tired.
For an instant I want to throw up my hands in frustration, and just say, “That's it! I'm done.”
But I didn't give up.
Business owners are problem solvers.
It's who we are.
We must be.
Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it. – Michael JordanWe get paid for solving people's problems.
If you are attempting to run a home business, and haven't yet figured this out, you probably aren't making much money yet.
And maybe it simply wasn't explained to you in these terms.
But it doesn't really matter what type of business you are running, whether it is a service business, or you manufacture products, or you are in an MLM or network marketing company.
Every business owner is a problem solver.
The bigger the problems that you solve, and the larger the number of people for whom you solve those problems, and the scarcity of people able to solve those problems, is what determines your level of compensation.
Solving the problem of a dirty floor or overgrown grass will get you about $10 an hour for your pains.
Solve the bigger problem for someone and you will be paid better.
Solve a problem for hundreds, or thousands of people, and you can multiply your compensation by that factor.
If not many people have the ability to solve the problem, for example, brain surgeons, then you get to add a specialty multiplier to the compensation.
As a business owner it is your primary responsibility to find bigger problems that you can solve for more people, in a unique way.
So don't be discouraged the next time you face some sort of setback.
Little problems and challenges are going to arise all the time.
How do you react to them?
Your reaction will determine your level of income.
Tackle the challenge and solve the problem, or shrink from it and back away, the choice is yours.
But just remember that the rewards await those who are willing to work through the problems and provide a brilliant solution.
So the next time you're faced with a problem or obstacle just say to yourself, “This is what I get paid for.”
Then find a way to make it work.
